Recently, a Nisswa resident responded to what she believed was an attack on Rep. Heintzeman's children by a previous letter writer. The first letter writer was not attacking the Heintzeman children. She was simply pointing out the absurdity of having Rep. Heintzeman at a celebration of the achievements of our public schools. Schools that the representative does not have a history of supporting, as did Mr. Ward. It certainly is Rep. Heinztman's prerogative to home school his children. Let us hope that that choice does not impact his advocacy for public education. However, his short 13 word speech at the celebration would seem to indicate that he was not particularly interested in being there.

As for the writer's contention that Mr. Ward should respond to every comment made in his name, how ridiculous. Mr. Ward is no longer a public servant and has returned to the private sector. Many of us have great respect for his years of service to this district. I only wish the letter writer would show Mr. Ward the respect she expects others to show Rep. Heintzeman.
