A few days ago I witnessed an older veteran display a behavior generally seen coming from a 2 year old. The veteran was obviously upset over a service received but instead of trying to resolve the issue, he decided to verbally attack an individual trying to help him. During his verbal attack with foul language, this man announced his status as disabled veteran and basically implied he was better than everyone around him in this country. I have never seen a veteran act this way and I am absolutely ashamed for this man and find it very hard to categorize him in the same group as myself.

As a veteran myself, I would like to apologize to the individual that was on the other end of that temper tantrum. This is not the norm of all veterans and should not be accepted in our community. As veterans we have sacrificed many things but that does not give us the right to talk down to people.
