The city of Brainerd has adopted an ordinance that addresses issue that may occur at rental properties. Each rental property is required to pay annual license fees to the city. The ordinance provides the city with the ability to revoke the license if conditions in the rental ordinance are violated. My suggestion: the council amend the existing ordinance, after a certain number of police calls to any rental property, the renter license will be revoked and not be renewed until conditions in the ordinance are taken care of.
