Democrats are at it again. Disagree with them and you are mean, evil, un-Minnesotan or some other nasty name intended to make you feel bad about yourself. Governor Dayton went so far as to say that people like me should move out of this state. All this because I don't think we should throw open the doors and bring in thousands of refugees from Syria.
President Obama made a statement to the AP, "Apparently they're scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America." While yes a large percentage of refugees are women and children, when the Tsarnaev family entered the United States, seeking political asylum, the two boys who went on to bomb the Boston Marathon, they were children as well.
Gov. Dayton has claimed he has been given assurances from the White House the refugees will go through the "highest level of security checks." I find this very statement to be extremely false and misleading because FBI director James Comey said they don't have the ability to conduct thorough background checks on all the refugees.
Our very own Rick Nolan has joined with 72 other House Democrats calling for the U.S. to bring in 100,000 refugees. If the FBI is telling us they can't check the ones that are coming in now, why would be up the number?
Do we need to be compassionate? Yes, but we need to be cautious. We need to be mindful that every refugee comes with a risk and a cost. We know ISIS is actively trying to get their people in with the refugees. Also, every refugee is eligible for numerous federal benefits such as food stamps, SSI, TANF, SCHIP and more.

I do not believe Gov. Dayton or Rep. Nolan can guarantee Minnesota's safety.
