The April 7 presentation at Central Lakes College featuring the executive director of CAIR quickly revealed his ignorance of American history by telling the audience that Christopher Columbus was the captain of the Mayflower and how Alex Haley's fictional character, Kunta Kinte, was a Muslim.
He misled about Thomas Jefferson's dining experience in 1805 with a Muslim envoy, falsely calling it an Iftar dinner, because the event occurred during Ramadan. Jefferson simply had dinner with a foreign visitor and didn't follow any of the traditional customs.
How does this man expect to maintain a shred of credibility after saying such nonsense?
Are the educators at CLC really that gullible?
The speaker went on to say that CAIR exists to help elderly Somali men and women who have paid their rent to landlords with money orders. Supposedly, the trusted landlords cheated them out of their rent. He wishes us to believe that this is somehow a civil rights discrimination issue, as if landlords routinely only cheated tenants that follow Islam.

What a ridiculous notion to think such incidents are directed exclusively at Muslims.
He attempted to address the issue of why CAIR doesn't denounce violent Islamic acts.
His answer was to invoke a recent incident suggesting that when violence in the name of other religions occur, those religious leaders don't denounce the violent acts.
This was his underhanded attempt to suggest CAIR need not denounce violence either.
He never denied the premise that CAIR doesn't denounce the violent acts of Muslims.
When meeting with the coordinator of the Cultural Thursday events at CLC, she was insistent that CAIR did indeed denounce radical Islamic acts.
It's likely the CLC event coordinator even realized the CAIR speaker proved her assessment of CAIR utterly false, considering all the head bobbing of approval going on.
