Sunday I heard a powerful sermon from a wise retired pastor, based on Jesus' entering the Temple and driving out the money changers, calling them a "den of thieves!" He pointed out that the religious leaders of Jesus' day not only held spiritual power over the people, but civil power as well. They not only collected the taxes the Roman government demanded from the Jewish people; they exceeded them by charging more for the animal sacrifices required in worship, thereby increasing their own coffers. They became corrupt.

When he finished the sermon, I realized there is something we Americans must do. We must garner enough states to pass an amendment to our Constitution overriding the Supreme Court's ruling in which they declared corporations were persons and could give whatever amount of money they wished to elect persons to public office, without disclosing the amount.

Corporations are not persons. They are business agencies engaged in making a profit for themselves. We, the people, need to rise up and change this ruling the court has wrongfully enacted. We must now act to nullify it.

Please write to your congressional leaders and ask them to vote to amend.
