I'm writing you today to tell you about a very influential resource for our local college students. I began my educational journey two years ago, and like many other CLC students I've had my own barriers to overcome, but ultimately I see myself as being very blessed to be able to pursue a better life for myself. I have many friends that have entered through these doors, received an excellent education, and re-entered the local job market into positions that were previously unattainable.
I say all of this to call your attention to a long-standing resource of CLC that is known as the CLC Food Pantry. The CLC Food Pantry is located in the Student Life Center and provides students with a variety of free ingredients and meal choices as well as such items as diapers, toothbrushes, and even some snacks. I go to class each day with students who can barely afford to eat, and I think it's wonderful I can point them to a helpful resource right here on campus. I routinely deal with students who haven't eaten in a day or are brought to tears by the generosity of those that donate the food.
I realize there are many worthy causes in the Brainerd lakes area, but I would like to ask any interested readers to please consider making a small financial contribution to the CLC Food Pantry so that I can continue to help offer this needed resource to my fellow students. I believe that learning is best accomplished on a full stomach. Thank you.
