We veterans in Crow Wing County have a problem. We have a veterans service officer that is very over worked and a county board that apparently is thinking that he isn't giving a full day's work for a full day's pay. I not only think that he is giving more than a full day's work for a full day's pay, I think he is giving more than a full day's work and receiving less than a full day's pay. After looking at the statute establishing the office it appears that he should be regarded as a department head and paid as such.
I think that we need a significant showing of veterans at the county board meeting at the Historic Courthouse. There is an elevator that will allow those who are limited in their mobility access. The meeting starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday. I hope to see you all there.
