Trans-Pacific Partnership [TPP] is creating a great political division with Congressman Rick Nolan and Republican challenger Stewart Mills.

Congressman Nolan and his surrogates have called out Stewart Mills for not having an opinion on the agreement. He also claimed that he read the entire agreement following its release and his opposition for it stems from that he feels it will cost jobs. All in a span of about 24 hours, guess he is one heck of a speed reader.

The TPP agreement has been a long time coming with negations going back over 10 years ago. Recently, a draft of the agreement became available for congress to read. The final bill that will be voted on is to follow in the coming months.

Congress has 30 days to review the draft and the public is given another 60 days to review it following that. The agreement, which is over 5,500 pages long, contains complex legal language, could easily make up 40 percent of the world economy, and it doesn't even include China, and support of the agreement has been a political football for both sides.

This is a very complex matter and something that should certainly not be taken lightly. We deserve a congressman that will put party politics aside, read each bill, and determine if it is the right policy for the people of the 8th district.
