We all remember President Ronald Reagan, admired and quoted by candidates for president. We all remember his famous statement at the Berlin Wall, when he said to the Soviet president, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Now the leading Republican candidate is saying, "I want to build a 35-foot high wall around the United States." Is this to keep people out or in?
Next, the Crow Wing County Republican chairman is criticizing the county DFL for making sure we have an equal balance of men and women as delegates to our state convention. That also follows in line with the Trump philosophy of women. The Crow Wing County DFL works hard to be an all inclusive party. Apparently Republicans don't feel that's important. And now the Republican chairman seems fascinated with the Crow Wing County DFL. He has attended our conventions and we also expect to see him at our endorsing convention on April 30 at the Crosby-Ironton High School. Maybe he should watch his own Republican legislators more closely to answer why they took away our right to vote for who we choose for county auditor/treasurer. Why are the Republicans taking away our right to vote?
