Before I'd call another person a "liar," I'd be absolutely sure of the facts and be prepared to defend my allegations before I opened my mouth.
The only thing "whining" Trump can point to, as it relates to Ted Cruz, is the incident in Iowa. In that case, Cruz wasn't even involved. CNN reported Ben Carson wasn't going to New Hampshire following the Iowa caucuses but was going home to Florida. CNN suggested Carson may be leaving the presidential campaign permanently, suspending his campaign. Members of the Cruz campaign merely repeated what they'd heard on the CNN correspondent's report. Cruz didn't direct his people to repeat this information, they did it on their own. Even so, Cruz publicly apologized in the following debate about the misunderstanding. For this, Trump has repeatedly attacked Cruz as "lying Ted."
Cruz, on the other hand, did call Mitch McConnell a liar, but not before he spent an hour and a half laying out his case with verifiable facts of McConnell's complicity in promising one thing before the election and delivering exactly the opposite in the FY 2016 budget deal. The budget proposed and adopted was essentially what Obama had presented, with funding for Planned Parenthood, illegal immigration, etc. Plus, Congress basically abrogated and surrendered its fiduciary responsibility for the remainder of Obama's term in office, through the end of FY 2017. It was a complete open and shut case that jurors wouldn't need more than five minutes to deliberate before rendering an unanimous decision.
It also seems appropriate that in nearly every picture I see of Trump, he's got his mouth open and it gives me the impression he'd rather dictate to Americans than listen to them (I'm just saying).
