Remember Bernie Madoff? He was the money manager who is serving a 150-year sentence for swindling investors out of $65 billion in the world's biggest Ponzi scheme ever.
Old Bernie is still running a racket. He bought up every package of Swiss Miss chocolate from the prison commissary and sold it to the cons for a profit. His friends in the slammer don't mind his profiteering. They say he stole more money than anyone in history and "He's our hero."
Humor aside, deception and defrauding are in Madoff's genes, as they are in Trumps. In just one example, Trump stiffed dozens of his contractors and paid them only a percentage of what was owed and dared them to sue. It was "take what we offer, or sue and settle in years."
Republicans continue to say he's going to change. That's doubtful. Trump lies so much he has stretch marks on his lips. He will never reveal his tax returns and will probably get away with it. To do so would expose too many illicit opportunities to profit on while he's in the White House. Trump is a pro bowl con man. He can't help himself. It's in his genes.
