Doesn't it seem like some people value animal life, (e.g. cats, dogs and recently the life of a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo), more than the lives of human babies in their mother's wombs; or even the life of the 4-year-old boy who accidentally fell into the gorilla's cage, causing zoo keepers to kill the gorilla, to save the boy's life?
If, looking for biblical guidance on this subject: we may turn to Matthew 10:31, which records Jesus as saying to his followers, "... you are worth much more than many sparrows."
Animal life is of importance too.
