In over 55 years of voting in various elections, we have never put a sign in our yard endorsing a particular candidate until this year. Working with Crow Wing County on lakes/aquatic invasive species issues, on behalf of numerous lake associations, has been disappointing. The current District 2 commissioner does not share our concerns regarding area lakes or at least he doesn't appear to. Many of us who work on these issues have attempted to work with Paul Thiede to no avail.
Meetings with his opponent Bill Brekken have been informative and encouraging. Please consider voting for Bill Brekken as the District 2 county commissioner. We think his views are more productive to preserve and improve the lakes and resulting economy in our county.
