The article in the Dispatch regarding the "County Attorney sues board" certainly does not seem to reflect well on the nature of working on a budget for Don Ryan's office. A person who has worked with the county for over two decades (as mentioned in the article), you would assume that this is a very drastic measure for this person to take, to sue the board! It's not likely that Don's work is getting easier, and less of it.
In the same article, a board member is quoted as indicating that since the board is about to get sued, he'll forgo his 2 percent raise. Nice. Maybe a little disingenuous, but there you have it.
Hopefully, as Don Ryan is quoted, "I am available if the board of commissioners are interested in negotiating an amicable resolution prior to incurring outside counsel expenses."
I think that's what we ought to expect out of our county board representatives!
