John Ward, Joe Radinovich and many Democrats found out on Nov. 4 that you can take care of your constituents to the nth degree, but if you are pro-choice and/or pro-gun control and/or pro-gay rights you will lose.
Being pro-choice, even when you and your family are pro-life, is tantamount to supporting abortion/murder. Bill O'Reilly of Fox News said he would not want to be Tiller (abortion doctor), Kathleen Sibelius (governor of Kansas 2003-2009), and other pro-choice politicians "if there is a judgment day." Inference: If you are pro-choice "Heaven" might not be attainable.
If a politician supports background checks when buyers attempt to purchase a gun and/or supports a ban on assault weapons, the NRA will "blackball" you. The NRA has convinced hunters that Pres. Obama is going to take away their guns. Paranoia reigns.
Supporting "gay rights" is another "kiss of death" if you are a politician. Evangelicals believe that homosexuals must stop being gay ("Pray the gay away"), ask for forgiveness and become heterosexual.
We now know that voters will vote against their own interests. Voters must have faith that businesses and corporations provide them full-time jobs with a living wage, health insurance and pensions. If unions are destroyed, Obamacare is repealed and the minimum wage isn't raised, nationally, then corporate masters must take care of their people.

Democrats, for the most part, can't win until Pres. Obama is out of office. Racism abounds.
Fear tactics, Republican drama, big oil, big money, the Chamber of Commerce, simplistic ideologies (everyone can lift themselves up by their bootstraps), evangelical theology (once we've taught you to fish, if you can't , you're on your own) and Republican obstructionism prevails.
Fox News successfully blamed everything on Pres. Obama.
