In addition to losses on the field, Vikings management is dealing with issues involving the team's players and the justice system. It is not clear whether lineman Tom Johnson committed any offense in his scuffle with off duty policemen at 2 a.m. recently. In another recent incident, lineman Linval Joseph escaped serious injury in a 2 a.m. sports bar shooting.
"There was no wrong done by Linval," said general manager Rick Spielman. Apparently, spending much of the night in a sports bar during the season by a player being paid millions to be in top shape, is OK behavior to Vikings management.
It may be that management is as responsible for the Vikings recent dismal showing as are the players. Bud Grant, we miss you.
