Todd County saw the biggest spike, both in terms of raw numbers as well as per capita with a total of 180 new cases, up from 107 the week before. Morrison County increased by 66 cases week over week, from 162 to 228, while Crow Wing’s 303 cases was 40 more than the 263 recorded last week.

Six of the seven area counties had a least a little growth ranging from 1.4% to 5.8% in the last decade.
In Crow Wing County, 80 new cases were reported up from 56 a week ago and 28 a week before that.
The changes to vaccination rates of individual counties do not affect the state’s overall vaccination rate, which as of Sunday, stood at 65.7% of those ages 12 and older.
Between June 11 and Friday, a total of 69 new cases occurred in the seven-county region. These are some of the smallest daily increases seen since the very early days of the pandemic.

There were, however, the deaths of four area residents reported, including a Crow Wing County man in his 50s.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
Reports of new cases across the north-central region dropped off a cliff for the first week of June. All seven counties — including Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Todd and Wadena — reported new cases in the single digits since Sunday, for a total of just 35.
