Early Bird Registration is now open for The Run Dump Quarter Marathon and The Dump Run 5K 8 a.m. Aug. 3 in Aitkin during Riverboat Days. Runners and walkers are all welcome. The quarter marathon course takes participants through a scenic course on pavement and gravel road starting at Pine Lake access. This nostalgic route takes runners by the old dump, past the Water Stop on old 169 and then northward to Paubeck’s County Market. The 5K course begins at Paulbeck’s and works its way to the bike path crossing the Ripple River and into Aitkin’s City Park returning over the same route to the finish line at Paulbeck’s. This is the 32nd anniversary of The Dump Run and this community event serves as the kickoff to Riverboat Days. Register online at “The Dump Run in Aitkin” or Aitkin.com.
