Semi-pro Football: Sting blank Lumberjacks for title

ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Sting defeated the Brainerd Lumberjacks 27-0 to win the Midwest Premier Football League championship at Hamline University.

The top-seeded Sting grabbed a 10-0 first quarter lead and that’s how the score remained heading into the second half.

Minnesota tallied 17 unanswered points in the second half to claim the crown.

The Lumberjacks finish the season with a 7-4 league record. The Sting finished the league season with a 10-1 mark.
