ST. PAUL-Brainerd's Chad Orsburn advanced to Saturday's semifinals in the Class 3A individual state tournament Friday at the Xcel Energy Center.
The eighth-ranked Orsburn will meet top-ranked Aaron Cashman of Shakopee in Saturday's 113-pound semifinals.
Earlier Friday, Orsburn opened with a 17-5 major decision over Zach Wallace of Minnetonka. In the quarterfinals, he decisioned Roman Rogotzke of East Ridge 18-12.
At 120, Brainerd's Cole Kubesh lost his first match to third-ranked Colby Njos of Anoka 6-2. Njos won his next match which sent the eighth-ranked Kubesh into the wrestlebacks where his season ended with a 6-2 loss to seventh-ranked Boyd Mumbuwa of Minnetonka.
In the opening round at 145, Brainerd's Andy Schlosser was pinned by fifth-ranked Austin Braun of Woodbury in 5:36. Braun won his second match so the 10th-ranked Schlosser went to the wrestlebacks where he was pinned in 4:30 by fourth-ranked Teddy Pierce of St. Francis and his season ended.

For Little Falls, 182-pounder AJ Jenks advanced to the wrestlebacks after getting pinned in 3:34 by fifth-ranked Calvin Sund of Prior Lake in the opening round. The seventh-ranked Jenks lost by injury default to fourth-ranked James Huntley of Stillwater in the wrestlebacks, ending his season.
The Flyers' Lane Rutten (138) lost his only match and was eliminated.

B-H/V's Kimber in semis
ST. PAUL-Ethan Kimber of the Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale/Prairie Valley Raiders advanced to Saturday's semifinals after Day One of the Class 2A state tournament at the Xcel Energy Center.
Kimber pinned Cole Walters of Grand Rapids in 60 seconds in the opening round. He then defeated Steven Haja of Delano 10-7 in the quarterfinals. The eighth-ranked Kimber will wrestle fifth-ranked Steven Hajas of Delano in Saturday's semifinals.
The Raiders' Holt Truax won his opening match by fall, lost in the quarterfinals and won his first wrestleback match Friday to remain alive.
