Boys Soccer: Brainerd blanks Rocori

COLD SPRING—Noah Ebinger and Jack Thorkelson netted goals for the Brainerd Warriors who shut out the Rocori Spartans 2-0 in a Central Lakes Conference matchup Tuesday.

The Warriors tallied both goals in the first half with Tim Whiteman and Nick Whiteman each collecting an assist.

"Our team actually played a full 80 minutes," said Brainerd head coach Tom Grausam. "Mason Malone, Noah Ebinger, Mason Wales and Nick Whiteman controlled the middle field and Ian Forsythe had an excellent game at outside defense pushing the ball up."

Defensively, the Warriors stymied Rocori allowing just four shots on goal, all of which were rejected by Brainerd keeper Noah Sundberg for his second clean sheet of the season. Offensively, Brainerd put 11 shots on net.

"I was very pleased with our effort, but we need to put on more finishing touches," said Grausam. "Overall it was really an outstanding game.

"Next is Apollo (Thursday at Brainerd) which will be a test for us and we'll have to step up."
