ANDOVER- Maddox Canon and Kaydn Robinson each scored a hat trick, and the two-time defending state champion Brainerd Warriors won their 35th straight game, peppering Anoka with 31 shots on net in a 13-3 North Conference win Wednesday, Jan 16.
Matt Allord and Blaise Edinger each added two goals in the win. The Warriors led 4-0 after the first period, and 10-3 after a six-goal outburst in the second period.
Tate Boelter notched four saves in goal and Edinger tallied three.
"The Warriors played well tonight," said head coach Todd Person. "Anoka is always a difficult place to play with the smaller floor and I thought our kids did a great job of coming out strong and doing what was needed. Anoka didn't have any shots on goal the entire first period as we were able to close the gaps on defense quickly.
"We had a few times we were out of position defensively in the second period, which allowed Anoka a couple of good looks that they they converted on. After that we were able to keep the pressure on for the rest of the game.

"Matt Allord, Blaise Edinger and Maddox Canon continue to improve their communication on the floor as they get used to playing together which is helping our team build some of the early leads allowing us to then control the tempo of the game."
