Adapted Floor Hockey: Otey, Warriors outscore Mustangs
ANDOVER — Tre’Von Otey scored four goals and assisted on two others for the Brainerd Warriors who defeated the Anoka-Hennepin Mustangs 10-1 Thursday, Feb. 20.
“Tre’Von Otey had a slow start, but started to show some fire that we will need to have at the state tournament,” Brainerd head coach Todd Person said.
Kaydn Robinson collected eight points with a hat trick and five assists, four of the assists coming on Otey’s goals.
Matt Allord finished with a pair of goals and two assists. Abby Thompson scored on a second chance after a shot by Cadence Atwater.
“Anoka battled hard tonight and it was good for us to have some physical work, especially along the boards,” said Person. “Anoka can be a tough place to play because of the smaller floor, but once we adjusted, our players did a great job of making more precise passes and crashing the net once the shots were taken.”
Goalie Tate Boelter recorded four saves for Brainerd which outshot the Mustangs 25-5.
The Warriors are 8-0 and are on a 54-game winning streak. They topped Anoka-Hennepin 11-3 Jan. 3.
