MAPLE GROVE-Sierra Hartung notched a hat trick and the unbeaten Brainerd Warriors allowed just two shots on goal in a 14-0 win over the Maple Grove Crimson in a North Conference game Thursday, Feb. 14.
Blaise Edinger and Jacob Elias each scored twice while the Warriors picked up lone goals from Matt Allord, Kadyn Robinson, Maddox Canon, Tre'Von Otey, Alex Goedker, Karlee Schuler and Tate Boelter.
"As the team did on Tuesday, we moved the puck around and got a lot of players involved," said Brainerd head coach Todd Person. "We started to have players move out of the triangle formation we have been using on offense to a box that we used more last year.
"The players did a good job of adjusting on the fly and we saw the benefits of that as Maple Grove struggled to clear the zone."
Brainerd hammered away at the Maple Grove net with 29 shots.

"Before the game started, coach (Josh) Fordyce challenged the team to keep the shots down by not allowing Maple Grove any space on offense," said Person. "The players responded to that challenge and we kept Maple Grove out of our zone for most of the game."
The Warriors have won 38 straight games and are 4-0 in the conference, 7-0 overall. In their seven games this season, they have outscored their opponents 75-16.
