Adapted Floor Hockey: Warriors dominate to extend winning streak to 52
Kadyn Robinson and Matt Allord each scored a hat trick and assisted on three other goals for the Brainerd Warriors who extended their winning streak to 52 games with an 11-1 victory over the Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound Westonka Robins Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Riverside Elementary in Brainerd.
Blaise Edinger, Tre’Von Otey, Alex Goedke, Hunter Zilka and Tate Boelter added single goals for Brainerd.
The Robins got on the board first in the opening period, but it was all Brainerd after that. The Warriors slipped in two goals before the first intermission, added six in the second period and three in the third.
“Robbinsdale did a good job of putting pressure on the puck, especially in the first period,” said Brainerd head coach Todd Person. “It took us a bit to get in sync as we had a lot of shots that missed the net early in the first period due to the pressure. Once we settled down and started to move the puck around, the floor opened up and we got some better looks at the net.
“After a quick start in the second period, we were able to slow the game down and then our defense stepped up allowing only one shot on goal in the final two periods.”
The Warriors outshot the Robbins 40-6. Goalie Tate Boelter recorded five saves for Brainerd.
