The Breezy Point North Stars were swept by the Alexandria Blizzard in a home/away weekend series in North American3 junior hockey action. The visiting Blizzard won 4-1 Friday, Jan. 4, and then host Alexandria shutout the North Stars 6-0 Saturday, Jan. 5.

On Friday, the Blizzard grabbed a 3-0 lead after the first period before the North Stars' Dustin Sadler scored on the power play in the second period. Dyland Mattson then added his second goal of the game to give Alexandria an insurmountable 4-1 lead in the third session. Winning goaltender Ville Hyttinen stopped 11 shots while Breezy Point's Jacob MacLennan turned aside 36 shots.

On Saturday, the Blizzard used four power-play goals and 21 saves by netminder Kyle Hayden to blank the North Stars.

The North Stars, 8-21-2-1 overall, are scheduled to play at Rochester on Friday and then host Willmar at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at Breezy Point Arena.
