Grant Kosobud was named the most valuable boy and Alex Stone was selected the most valuable girl at the Brainerd Warriors Alpine skiing banquet Sunday at Cragun's.

In addition, Stone received an all-state award which is awarded to the top 20 individual finishers at the state meet.

The state championship girls team was also recognized by the coaches association as an academic gold team for 2015. Their average grade-point average of 3.79 was the highest of all girls or boys teams participating in the state tournament. Under the previous system of recognizing teams for academic excellence, they would also have been academic state champions for 2015 just as Brainerd's last section championship girls team was in 2008.
