Alpine Skiing: Mount Ski Gull places 26 in top three

Twenty-six members of the Mount Ski Gull Alpine Racing Team placed in the top three of their respective age divisions in the last regular Alpine ski race of the Northland Junior Race Series Sunday at Mount Ski Gull.

In girls 6-7, Sunnie Ruttger, Baxter, placed second, with teammate Gabriella Bratney, Brainerd, finishing third.

Nisswa's Tucker O'Brien took home a first place in the boys 6-7 age division.

In girls 8-9, MSG skiers took all top three spots with Lauren Kalenberg, East Gull Lake, Aubrey Wiczek, Nisswa, and Calia Chaney, Nisswa, placing 1-2-3.

In the boys 8-9 grouping, Eli Johnson of Crosslake finished third.

In girls 10-11, Annika Wiczek, Nisswa, placed third.

MSG boys in the 10-11 division swept all three top spots with Esten Heibert, Brainerd, Evan Hutchison, Deerwood, and Max Krieger, Fifty Lakes, finishing 1-2-3.

In girls 12-13, MSG skiers stood on the podium with Baxter's Maddie Kalenberg first, Madeline Sherman, Pequot Lakes, second, and Anna Krieger, Fifty Lakes, third.

Brainerd's Max Darkow, Brainerd, won in boys 12-13 with Calvin Madison, East Gull Lake, third.

Pine River's Grace McGuire raced to a first-place finish in the girls 14-15 division, with teammate Payge Fitterer, East Gull Lake, second.

In the 14-15 division, MSG boys dominated with Grant Kosobud of Lake Shore, first, Nick Krantz, Baxter, second, and Cameron Steffen, Crosslake, third.

In the girls 16 and over category, Brainerd's Emily Aga skied to a first-place finish with Ashley Fitterer, East Gull Lake, and Hannah Moen, Brainerd, finishing second and third.

In boys 16 and over, Grant Madison, East Gull Lake, finished second and Calvin Johnson, Crosslake, third.

The season ends with the NJRS Championships Sunday, March 1.
