Amateur Baseball: Bees beat Hibbing at Nick Bell Tournament
COLD SPRING--Blake Peterson pitched a complete game and the Brainerd Bees scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh to edge Hibbing 1-0 during the Nick Bell Tournament Saturday.

In the Bees' seventh, Hanson DeVine singled and stole second. Tim Martin followed with a single and the ball went under the left fielder's glove allowing DeVine to score.
Blake Peterson allowed just two hits and one walk with nine strikeouts and went 1-for-2 at the plate with a walk. Joel and Tim Martin had the Bees' other hits.
In Brainerd's opening game Saturday, Marshall scored in the top of the seventh on a 2-out passed ball for a 1-0 victory over the Bees. Devine went all seven innings yielding four hits and no earned runs with four walks and four strikeouts. Blake Peterson was 1-3 with a double and Brian Voigt, Kevin Peterson and Tim Martin supplied the other Brainerd hits.
Sunday, Blake Peterson was 2-3 with a double as the Bees lost to Moorhead 11-1. Tim Martin took the loss. In two-thirds of an inning, he allowed seven hits and nine runs (four earned) with one walk. Bryce Flanagan pitched 3.1 innings surrendering seven hits and two earned runs with a walk and two strikeouts. Voigt pitched the final inning giving up two hits with two strikeouts. Joel Martin was 1-3 with an RBI and Kevin Peterson and Ben Jones collected the other Brainerd hits.
