The Brainerd Bees opened the Section 2B playoffs with two losses to the Moorhead Brewers in the opening best of three series Aug. 8-9.
Brainerd dropped the first game 14-2 and fell 5-1 in the second game to fall into the lower’s bracket where they’ll face Sobieski 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
In the opener, Moorhead’s David Ernst threw a nine-strikeout complete game.
Brainerd’s Tim Martin went 2-3 with a home run and scored two runs. Colby Watland drove in a run and Eli Roberts went 2-3.
In Game Two, The Bee’s Brian Voigt threw seven innings. He gave up 10 hits, five runs and a walk. He struck out four.

Mason Argir threw two innings of relief. He allowed one hit and one walk and struck out two.
Joel Martin was 1-4 with a double an a run. Voight drove in a run and Gunner Wicklund and Argir both earned walks.
