Amateur Baseball: Bees suffer loss and tie

Bryce Flanagan smashed a three-run home run and finished 2-3 with four RBIs in an 8-8 tie between the Brainerd Bees and Cold Spring Friday at Adamson Field.

Bryce Flanagan smashed a three-run home run and finished 2-3 with four RBIs in an 8-8 tie between the Brainerd Bees and Cold Spring Friday at Adamson Field.

The game was called because of sprinklers going off and flooding the infield.

Brainerd fell 4-3 to St. Cloud Beaudreaus Sunday.

Against Cold Spring, Joel Martin went 3-5 with four runs. Brian Voigt was 2-5 with a double. Danny Deis was 2-5 and Casey Welsch was 2-4 with two RBIs for Brainerd.

Flanagan started the game and allowed five earned runs on six hits. Hanson devine pitched three innings and allowed one earned run on one hit. He struck out one. Levi Jenska pitched the final four innings. He allowed three hits and one walk. He struck out one.

In the loss to St. Cloud, Flanagan went 2-4 with an RBI. Welsch was 2-4 with a double. Voight hit an RBI double and Martin and Dies both scored a run.

Devine started and went five innings. He allowed three runs on three walks and one hit. He struck out two.

Flanagan pitched two innings and allowed the game-winning run for the loss. He struck out two over two innings of work.

Jenska pitched the final two innings. He walked three and allowed one hit. He struck out three.

Brainerd concludes the regular season with a 4-9-1 record. They will face St. Cloud Beaudreaus 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4 in Cold Spring in the opening round of the playoffs.
