After a three-way tie was broken, the Brainerd Bees landed the unlucky No. 4 seed for the upcoming Section 2B playoffs.

The news also comes with the fact that Brainerd will have to play a play-in series against No. 5 seeded East Grand Forks. The best-of-three series was supposed to start Saturday, Aug. 7, but East Grand Forks has already informed the Bees that it will have to forfeit due to a lack of players. So with a one-game lead, Brainerd will host East Grand Forks at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Central Lakes College. If necessary a third game would be played following the conclusion of Game Two.

The winner of the series will then advance to the Section 2B playoffs where the Moorhead Brewers earned the No. 1 seed. The Moorhead Mudcats landed the No. 2 seed followed by the Hamel Hawks at No. 3.

The section playoffs will be Aug. 13-15 in Moorhead.
