Buckman 17, Nisswa 14
BUCKMAN — A late rally by the fourth-seeded Nisswa Lightning fell short against the top-seeded Buckman Billygoats in the North/East winner’s bracket Sunday, July 25.
The Lightning scored six runs in the last two innings to lose 17-14 against the Billygoats.
Buckman scored six runs in the sixth and six runs in the seventh to take a commanding 17-8 lead.
Kody Ruedisili recorded five hits and two RBIs including two home runs for Nisswa, who recorded 17 hits as a team.
Buckman tallied 19 hits led by Matt Kummet, Shawn Lanners and Joe Kahl who all had three hits apiece.
Nisswa blasted five home runs as a team. Jeremiah Piepkorn went 2-4 with a home run, Aaron Jenkins went 1-3 with a two-run home run and Drew Boland went 3-4 with three RBIs and a home run along with Ruedisili’s two bombs for Buckman.
The Billygoats hit four home runs as a team. Matt Tautges went 2-5 with three RBIs and a home run. Noah Boser blasted two home runs for Nisswa and went 2-4 with four RBIs. Kummert also blasted a home run with one of his three hits and recorded three RBIs.
Austin Dickman earned the win for Buckman pitched 8.2 innings and allowed 14 runs and struck out 4. Boser earned the save with 0.1 innings pitched.
The Lightning used seven pitchers with Sam Jensen getting pinned with the loss.

Nisswa 15, Pierz Brewers 5
NISSWA — Kody Ruedisili went 4-5 with two doubles and a home run in the Nisswa Lightning’s 15-5 win over the Pierz Brewers in the first round of the North/East Playoffs Friday, July 23.
The fifth-seeded Brewers took a 5-0 lead into the fifth inning before a nine-run bottom of the fifth gave the fourth-seeded Lightning a lead they would not let go.
Nisswa added three runs in the sixth and a home run by Ruedisili followed by a Tory Miller double and a bases loaded walk ended the game in the seventh.
Drew Boland went 2-3 with three RBIs and a double for Nisswa. Miller tallied two doubles for his two hits. Brett Jenkins earned the win and struck out three in 6.2 innings pitched for Nisswa.
Sam Peterson knocked in four runs for Nisswa and tallied two hits and Jeremiah Piepkorn also tallied two hits for Nisswa.
Michael Leidenfrost led the Pierz Brewers going 2-3 with a walk.

Buckman 13, St. Mathias 3
BUCKMAN — Top-seeded Buckman dispatched of St. Mathias 13-3 in the first round of the North/East Playoffs Saturday, June 24.
Matt Kummet and Andrew Rueckert each tallied three hits apiece to lead Buckman in hitting. Rueckert tallied four RBIs and a double for the Billygoats.
Noah Boser and Aaron Weber each blasted a home run in the win for Buckman as well.
Aaron Weber picked up the win and struck out nine batters in seven innings pitched.
Jack Suska also tallied three RBIs in the win for Buckman
Jacob Zontelli tallied two hits and a double and Konnor Wicklund went 2-3 with a double to lead St. Mathias in the loss.

Pierz Lakers 4, Fort Ripley 2
FORT RIPLEY — The sixth-seeded Pierz Lakers won against third-seeded Fort Ripley in the North/East Playoffs Saturday, July 24.
Peter Herman went 2-4 with two RBIs and a double in the win for the Lakers. Carter Petron picked up the win and struck out nine in seven innings pitched. Reggie Litke got the save and struck out one in two innings pitched.
Bryce Flanagan struck out seven in nine innings pitched for Fort Ripley in the loss.
The Rebels were led by Brian Skluzacek, Brett Kramer, Zach Heidmann and Flanagan at the plate who all tallied one hit apiece.
The Lakers scored three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. Peter Herman ripped an RBI double followed by a Paul Herman RBI single.

Fort Ripley 10, Royalton 4
FORT RIPLEY — Third-seeded Fort Ripley bounced from its loss to the Pierz Lakers to beat the seventh-seeded Royalton Riverdogs 10-4 in the North/East elimination round Sunday, July 25.
Jason Sather led the Rebels going 3-4 with four RBIs and a double. Bill Sather and Brian Skluzacek each tallied two hits apiece as well for Fort Ripley in the win.
Broc Peterson started for the Rebels and picked up two strikeouts in his six innings pitched.
Bryce Flanagan and Zach Heidmann each tallied a double in the win.
The Riverdogs were led by Grayson Suska and Zack Cekalla who each had two hits apiece.
Zach Leibold struckout six in six innings for Royalton and was tagged with the loss.

PIERZ — Peter Schommer went 3-3 and also pitched a complete game with six strikeouts to lead the Pierz Brewers over St. Mathias in a North/East elimination game Sunday, July 25.
The Brewers racked up 10 hits total with Michael Leidenfrost and Rylee Rauch each recording two hits apiece.
St. Mathias was led by Zach Houle who tallied all three RBIs for the Devils including a home run.
Jonah Prokott recorded two RBIs for the Brewers in the win.

Foley 8, Pierz Lakers 4
FOLEY — The Foley Lumberjacks dispatched the Pierz Lakers 8-4 in the winner’s bracket of North/East Division Playoffs Sunday, July 25.
After trailing 4-1 the Lumberjacks rallied to tie it in the seventh with a bases loaded double by Drew Beier. Foley added four in the eighth to take the lead.
Beier picked up the win for Foley while Chad Weiss was tagged with loss for the Lakers.
