Amateur Baseball: Bulldogs out slug Brewers

PIERZ — Evan Woitalla went 4-for-6 with two doubles and four RBIs for the Pierz Bulldogs in their 14-10 win over the Pierz Brewers Saturday, May 14.

Charles Boser also ripped two doubles and had four RBIs for the Bulldogs who took an 8-0 lead after two innings and a 11-3 lead after three.

Mason Herold tallied three hits and two doubles as well for the Bulldogs.

The Brewers were led by Peter Schommer who went 4-5 with two doubles and Ryan Stuckmayer who pounded out two doubles and had two RBIs.

PIERZ — The Pierz Bulldogs tallied 13 hits to capture a 17-7 win over the Flensburg Falcons Saturday, May 14.

Nisswa 7, Royalton 3

ROYALTON — Kody Ruedisili went 3-for-5 with a home run for the Nisswa Lightning in their 7-3 win over the Royalton Riverdogs Sunday, May 15.

Aaron Jenkins and Matt Casperson also pounded home runs for the Lightning.

Jenkins also got the win on the mound and allowed one hit over seven innings and struck out five.

Drew Boland and Nicholas Kotaska each had doubles for Nisswa.

St. Mathias 11, Foley 9

ST. MATHIAS — Kamden Happke went 2-for-4 including a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the tenth as the St. Mathias Devils beat the Foley Lumberjacks 11-9 Sunday, May 15.

Hunter Wicklund went 3-4 with three runs and a walk for St. Mathias. Kolton Happke tallied three hits.

Foley was led by Mitch Keeler who went 4-4 with a walk.

Connor Knettel pitched 8.2 innings to get the win.

Buckman 6, Fort Ripley 3

FORT RIPLEY — Lane Girtz went 2-for-4 for the Buckman Billygoats in their 6-3 win over the Fort Ripley Rebels Sunday, May 15.

The Billygoats scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 6-3 lead.

Fort Ripley was led by Jack Schafer who went 2-4.

Sobieski 7, St. Wendel 0

ST. WENDEL — The Sobieski Skis combined for a no-hitter in their 7-0 win over the St. Wendel Saints Sunday, May 15.

Alex Gwost went the first four innings and struck out seven with two walks. Jake Kapphahn then pitched three innings with one strikeout. Dusty Parker finished out the no-no for the Skis and pitched two innings with three strikeouts.

Joey Hanowski went 3-for-5 for the Skis at the plate while Parker tallied three RBIs.

Kappahahn recorded the only extra-base hit a double.
