Fort Ripley and Buckman secured berths in the Region 8C Tournament following respective North and East Division semifinal wins Sunday.
Also earning the right to advance to the region tournament following
victories Sunday were Sobieski from the West and Avon from the South. The
top two teams from each division advance.
Fort Ripley 10, Nisswa 0
FORT RIPLEY - Brett Kramer and Logan Kalis combined to throw a one-hitter
for the Fort Ripley Rebels in a seven-inning 10-0 shutout of the Nisswa
Lightning in Sunday's North Division semifinal game.
Kramer tossed five innings allowing the only Lightning hit and Kalis
struck on two over two innings. Nisswa had only four base runners with
none advancing past second.
Bill Sather went 4-4 for the Rebels with an RBI and Dustin Littlefield was
3-3 with a double and scored three runs. Jack Hegarty finished 2-4 with a
pair of doubles. Rhett Williamson was 2-3 with a double and Kramer hit a two-run double.
Chris Pederson collected the only hit for Nisswa.

Aitkin 9, Cuyuna Range 2
AITKIN - Drew Nordean tossed a complete-game, two-hitter for the Aitkin
Steam who eliminated the Cuyuna Range Miners 9-2 Sunday in a North
Division losers' bracket game.
Nordean struck out 12, walked one and had a no-hitter going
into the seventh inning.
Brian Burman keyed Aitkin's offense as he ripped his 10th homer of the season,
while going 2-3 with two RBIs and scoring twice. Delivering doubles for
the Steam were Nathan Ehnstrom, Sam Peterson, Caleb Curtiss, Mike Olsen
and Evan Ferdelman. Six Aitkin batters finished with two hits each.
Lance Herbst doubled and Reed Olander had hits for the Miners.

BUCKMAN - Noah Boser blasted a three-run home run while going 3-4 for the Buckman Billygoats, who defeated the Lastrup Lakers 7-1 in the winner's bracket of the East Division Sunday.
Matt Tautges turned in a three-hit performance, including a double, for the Billygoats and Ben Boser and Matt Kummet finished with two hits each.
Brad Meyer drove in the only Lastrup run with a first-inning single and finished 3-4. Paul Herman was 2-4 with a double and Chad Weiss' double accounted for all the Lakers' hits.
Jeremy Monson pitched the win. He struck out four, walked two and allowed five hits over seven innings. Tautges kept the Lakers scoreless for the final two innings.

Bulldogs 9, Brewers 4
PIERZ - Kolton Eischens struck out seven and allowed nine hits for the Pierz Bulldogs, who eliminated the Pierz Brewers 9-4 in Sunday's East Division loser's bracket game.
The Bulldogs spread the wealth with seven different batters collecting two hits. Austin Dickmann contributed a solo homer. Teddy Dehler tripled and Nick Herold hit a double.
Chuck Boser went 2-4 with a double for the Brewers. Eric Boser also doubled, while Brian Kiel and Greg Pohlkamp turned in two hits each.

The Sobieski Skis defeated Upsala 10-2 in the winners bracket and Randall
beat Flensburg in the elimination bracket Sunday. Randall and Upsala face
off Saturday with the winner moving on to the title game against Sobieski
South Division Results
Avon moved on to the South Division title game with a 4-3 win over St.
Stephen Sunday and Freeport eliminated St. Wendel 6-3 in the loser's
Freeport takes on St. Stephen Saturday with the winner advancing to
the South title game against Avon Sunday.
