CROSBY-Lance Herbst tossed a complete game one-hitter for the Cuyuna Range Miners in a 12-2 North Division win over the St. Mathias Devils Sunday, July 1.
He struck out six, walked four and hit three batters over eight innings. Herbst also keyed the Miners' offensive attack going 4-5 with a stolen base and four RBIs.
Dillon Solid also went 4-5 for the Miners with two stolen bases and scored three runs. James Fort contributed a triple and a double while Gunnar Wicklund and Zach Houle also finished with multiple hits.
Losing pitcher Conner Knettel accounted for the only St. Mathias hit.

FORT RIPLEY-The Fort Ripley Rebels scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie and beat the Flensburg Falcons 4-1 Sunday, July 1, in a non-division game.
Bill Sather doubled and was the only Rebel to finish with multiple hits. Brett Kramer earned the win in relief as he struck out three and allowed just one hit in the final two innings after taking the mound. Starter Logan Kalis struck out five while surrendering one run and three hits.

PIERZ-Chad Weiss pitched seven shutout innings for the Lastrup Lakers in a 5-0 East Division win over the Pierz Bulldogs Sunday, July 1.
Weiss struck out five and walked one while allowing five hits. Preston Rocheleau struck out four and gave up one hit in relief over the final two innings.
Rocheleau went 2-4 at the plate while doubles by Pete Herman and Dan Saehr led seven other Lastrup hitters who finished with one hit apiece.
Ryan Foreman went 3-4 with a double to lead the Bulldogs who finished their regular season 3-10.
Lastrup improved to 10-1 and has a makeup game with Freeport 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 6, and wraps up the regular season against undefeated East Division leader Buckman 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 7.
