Amateur Baseball: Lastrup overpowers Lightning
NISSWA--Chad Weiss hit a grand slam and Rick Schlieman added a two-run homer as the Lastrup Lakers defeated the Nisswa Lightning 10-3 in Victory League action Monday.

Brad Meyer was 3-4 with an RBI for the Lakers. Schlieman finished 2-5 with a double and two RBIs. Weiss was 2-3 with a double and Dan Saehr was 2-2 with two RBIs.
Tory Miller finished 3-5 with two doubles for the Lightning and Chris Pederson homered.
Brad Meyer went seven innings to get the win. He scattered the three Nisswa runs and all seven hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Reggie Litke threw two shutout, hitless innings in relief.

Buckman 11, Bulldogs 1
BUCKMAN-Joe Kahl went 3-3 with a home run, three RBIs, two stolen bases and scored three runs for the Buckman Billygoats in an 11-1 eight-inning victory over the Pierz Bulldogs Monday.
Jeremy Monson went seven innings to earn the win before giving way to Andrew Rueckert for the final stanza. Matt Kummet finished 3-4 for Buckman with two RBIs and two runs.
Michael Meyer collected two of the three Bulldog hits and drove in the only Pierz run.

PIERZ-Logan Meyer pitched seven shutout innings to lead the unbeaten Pierz Brewers past the Cuyuna Range Miners 6-0 Monday.
Mike Poser finished on the mound for Pierz, allowing one hit with two strikeouts and no walks. Dylan Kummet, Chuck Boser, Michael Garber and Greg Pohlkamp each had two hits for Pierz.
Dillon Solid was 2-4 for Cuyuna.

Fort Ripley 15, Aitkin 1
AITKIN-Brett Kramer belted a pair of home runs and Ethan Branum struck out 10 for the Fort Ripley Rebels who defeated the Aitkin Steam 15-1 Monday.
In the other game Monday, the Royalton Riverdogs slipped past the St. Mathias Devils 16-15.
