HAMBURG - With a 3-2 victory over Hamburg, the Fort Ripley Rebels escaped the Miller Lite Invitational Saturday and Sunday with a 1-2 record.
The Rebels opened the tournament with a 3-2 loss to Milroy. Logan Kalis allowed just two earned runs and struck out six in the complete game loss. He also finished 2-4 with a run. Ray Austin went 2-3 with two RBIs and Brian Skluzacek was 1-4 with a run.
In the 3-2 Hamburg victory, Ethan Branum struck out 10, walked five, hit three and allowed two earned runs for the win.
Kalis was 1-2 with a walk. Austin finished 1-3 with a solo home run. Branum was 1-3 with an RBI and a run and Mac Brink scored the Rebels' other run.
The Rebels closed out the weekend with a 4-1 loss to St. Patrick.

Brett Kramer was charged with the loss. He struck out five, walked two and allowed three earned runs. He went 1-2 with a triple and an RBI. Chris Veith was 1-1 and Braden Bork collected the other Fort Ripley hit.
