Eli Roberts went 3-3 with a triple as Brainerd dropped their first game in the Legion Baseball MN sub-state 10 tournament 8-2 to Duluth West.
Colby Watland started the game for Brainerd and pitched four innings and allowed seven runs on four hits. He walked four and struck out five. Michael Laber hit 2-3 with two singles and Marcus Lennartson hit an RBI single.
Gunner Wicklund came in for relief and pitched three innings. He allowed one run on five hits. Brainerd now moves to the losers bracket of the tournament.
