PILLAGER — Blake Clark’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Pillager Huskies to a 5-4 Park Region Conference victory over the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders Friday, April 16.

Clark finished 1-3 with a double, run and two RBIs. His big hit was set up with an intentional walk to Griffin Decker to load the bases. Gabe Grimsley finished 2-3 with a double and two RBIs and Eli Miller and Conner Hanson both posted two hits. Hanson also scored twice.

Miller pitched the win. He allowed four unearned runs on eight hits and two walks. He struck out eight over seven innings.

Josh Johnson was 2-4 for BHV.

LAPORTE — Konnor King struck out three and allowed just two earned runs on four hits and no walks to help the Pine River-Backus Tigers score a 13-10, 10-2 Northland Conference sweep of Laporte Friday, April 16.

In the 13-10 Game One victory, Rian Struss was 2-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Connor Tulenchik was 1-3 with a triple, three RBIs and a run scored and Dalton Middendorf drove in two runs and scored once himself.

Nolan Olivier pitched the win in relief.

Olivier drove in two runs in the nightcap. Owen Carlson scored three times and Trevor Redding was 1-2 with two runs scored.

Tony Kreklau was 2-4 with three RBIs and Evan Lunde was 2-2 with an RBI.

Payton Rondestvedt scattered two hits and two walks and struck out six over three innings for the win.
