LITTLE FALLS- AJ Jenks struck out eight and allowed just one hit leading Little Falls to a 1-0 complete-game victory over the Monticello Magic Tuesday.

Travis Wenzel scored the winning run and Thomas Kunkel was 1-1 in the non-conference game.

Pequot sweeps Aitkin


PEQUOT LAKES-The Pequot Lakes Patriots took advantage of three big innings to sweep the Aitkin Gobblers 10-5 and 20-7 in a Mid-State Conference doubleheader Tuesday.

The Patriots tallied eight runs in the bottom of the fifth after Aitkin grabbed a 5-0 lead in the top of the stanza.

Austin Meister pitched complete game for Pequot with five strikeouts, one walk and 12 hits. He also went 3-4 with an RBI. Dylan Mesenbrink drove in three and Zach Sjoblad contributed a double.

Kyle Cluff and Zak Peterson contributed doubles for Aitkin in the first game. They each had two hits as did Austin Trotter and Darek Rono.

Leading 2-1 in the second game, the Patriots erupted with nine runs in the top of the third and added eight more in the fourth for a 19-1 lead. Aitkin rallied for five runs with nobody out in the bottom of the fourth and the bases loaded before Quinn Miller grounded into a triple play.

Sam Pfeiffer, Deven Psyck and Cameron Anderson each had two hits and three RBIs for the Patriots. Psyck and Anderson tripled and Pfeiffer doubled.

Zak Peterson and Jacob McCormick doubled and Jon Blanchette tripled for the Gobblers. Peterson and Carter Dox had two hits each.

Pierz's Jack Suska went 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Reese Kapsner hit a double and drove in a run and Austin Dickmann was 1-1 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Preston Rocheleau struck out five over six innings. He allowed one run on six hits and three walks to pitch the win and improve Pierz to 14-4.

Jackson Weniger hit one double and struck out five. Mack Jones blasted a home run to go with two RBIs for the Raiders.
