LITTLE FALLS-Sam Himley smashed a home run as the Little Falls Flyers defeated the Zimmerman Thunder 13-3 in a Granite Ridge Conference game Thursday.

Dylan Lukasavitz totalled two doubles, Thomas Kunkel and Ben Sowada each tripled for the Flyers.

Sjoblad finished 2-3 with a home run, four RBIs and three runs scored.

Marcus Klein doubled and drove in three runs while Josh Lewica, Austin Meister and Dylan Mesenbrink also contributed doubles for the Patriots.

Pioneers sweep

EDEN VALLEY-Austin Dickman smacked a home run to help lead the Pierz Pioneers to victory in their season opener and a Central Minnesota Conference doubleheader Thursday.

The Pioneers defeated the Eagles 13-1 and 22-5. Jack Suska contributed two triples and a double for the Pioneers.

PARK RAPIDS-Justin Dykhoff struck out 10 in six innings and allowed just two hits but the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines were nudged 1-0 by the Park Rapids Panthers in non-conference play Thursday.

The Panthers scored in the bottom of the seventh for the win against W-DC reliever Max Phillips. Jake Dykhoff went 2-for-3 with a double for the Wolverines.
