DULUTH-Wyatt Sanford's RBI single scored Jake Westerlund in the bottom of the eighth to give the Aitkin Gobblers a 4-3 win over the Greenway Raiders in a Section 7-2A losers bracket game Friday at Wade Stadium.
Sanford finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Teammates Sam Peterson and Westerlund were both 2-for-3.
Drew Nordean pitched all eight innings for Aitkin, allowing five hits and three runs (2 earned) with five strikeouts and five walks. He threw 116 pitches as the Gobblers remained alive in the tournament's losers' bracket.
