AITKIN - Sophomores Caleb Curtiss and Jack Kuppich made sparkling varsity debuts on the mound for Aitkin as the unbeaten Gobblers mauled the Onamia Panthers 15-3 in a Great River Conference game Tuesday.
Curtiss got the win as he struck out seven in three innings. He walked two, hit a batter and allowed three hits. Kuppich allowed no hits in his three innings.
Curtiss and Kuppich received plenty of offensive support. Wyatt Sanford was 3-5 with a double and triple, Jake Lynn was 2-4 and Drew Nordean and Jacob Hyytinen were both 2-4 with doubles.
