Area Boys Basketball: Aitkin shoots down Bombers

Two area teams took to the hardcourt over the weekend.

BRAHAM — Hunter Nissen tossed in a game-high 21 points and Landon Janzen added 17 for the Aitkin Gobblers who defeated the Braham Bombers 58-32 in a non-conference game Saturday, Feb. 20.

Aitkin has won three straight and is 5-3.

Crosby-Ironton 71, Proctor 69

CROSBY — Carsen Turk’s and Jordan Oehrlein’s 17 points helped the Crosby-Ironton Rangers slip past the Proctor Rails 71-69 in a Section 7-2A game Saturday, Feb. 20.

Gabe Kramer added 15 points and Dietrich Winegarner finished with 14 for the Rangers who hadn’t played since Feb. 6.

A 3-pointer by John Werner, his fourth and the 14th for the Rails, put Proctor up 69-68 with 1:33 remaining. A floater down the lane by Winegarner and a James Stokman free throw in the final 40 seconds gave the Rangers their winning margin.
