Area Boys Basketball: Big 2nd half lifts Pierz over Flyers

Four area teams played Tuesday, Jan. 19, including a big Granite Ridge Conference match between Little Falls and Pierz.

LITTLE FALLS — Pierz’s Michael Leidenfrost and Jonah Prokott each tallied 12 points to help the Pioneers turn a two-point halftime deficit into a 55-39 Granite Ridge Conference victory over the Little Falls Flyers Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Little Falls’ Austin Neu led the Flyers with 13 points.

PEQUOT LAKES — Pequot Lakes’ Bode Magnuson totaled 18 points for the Patriots as they crushed the Park Rapids Panthers 74-29 in a Mid-State Conference game Tuesday, Jan 19.

Eli Laposky added 17 points for the Patriots while Alex Morgan recorded 10 points.

MOOSE LAKE — Carsen Turk tallied 20 points for the Crosby-Ironton Rangers who were defeated 86-59 by the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels in a Section 7-2A matchup Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Gabe Kramer and Frank Meyer each added 10 points for the Rangers who trailed 40-26 at halftime.
