ALEXANDRIA - Riley Loukinen scored 21 points as the No. 7-seeded Little Falls Flyers stunned the No. 2 Alexandria Cardinals 67-56 in the quarterfinals of the Section 8-3A tournament Tuesday night.
Kyle Kabanuk added 15 points for the Flyers who have won six of their last seven games and led 29-12 at the half. The Flyers shot 22-37 (60 percent) from the field and made six of 11 threes (55 percent).
Little Falls, which beat Alexandria 46-43 in the regular season, received nine points from John Lukasavitz and eight from TJ Kornbaum who led the Flyers with eight rebounds.
Alexandria, which finished the season losing four of its last six games, was led by Kris Setterstrom and Travis Krueger with 13 points apiece.
