"It was definitely something I wanted to do," Charlie Schoeck said. "Two years ago, when I started coaching with Stan and these guys, it was something that I always thought if the time came it would definitely be an opportunity that I would jump at. I definitely didn't see the opportunity coming as quickly as it did. That was a little out of the ordinary. But it was definitely something I wanted to pursue when the opportunity came around."

Jonathan Jacobson registered 18 points and eight assists for Crosby-Ironton in the non-conference game.

Pierz's Jonah Prokott paced the Pioneers with 15 points followed by Peter Schommer with 13.

PILLAGER-- Torry Hirschey tallied 22 points and was named to the all-tournament team as the Pine River-Backus Tigers defeated the Pillager Huskies 51-37 in the championship game in the Fornshell Classic at Pillager Friday, Dec. 21.

Brady Raph followed with nine points and was also named to the all-tournament team for the 6-1 Tigers.

Spencer Schaefer contributed 13 points for the Pillager Huskies.
