Area Boys Basketball: Staples-Motley beats Patriots by nine

PEQUOT LAKES - Andrew Israelson scored 25 points in the Staples-Motley Cardinals' 77-68 Mid-State Conference win over the Pequot Lakes Patriots Friday.

Blake Connell added 15 points, John Lund scored 14, Zack Hofmann 11 and Nathan Schimpp 10 for the Cardinals, who pulled off the season sweep of Pequot.

Brandon Hehir recorded 18 points for the Patriots and Jack Kreitz added 15.

CROSBY - Trailing by two at the half, Crosby Ironton rallied in the second half behind 17 points from Noah Gindorff and 16 from Jack Silgen to defeat the Nevis Tigers 58-56 in a non-conference game on Friday.

Daniel Hudrlik finished with 13 rebounds and Brady Tesdahl dished out five assists in the Rangers' win.

BAXTER - Abe Imdieke scored 18 points to lead the Lake Region Christian Hornets to a 59-42 win over Fourth Baptist in their season finale on Friday.

Tyler Ogren totaled 13 points, while Ryan Christenson chipped in 11 and Micah McGaffey finished with 10.

The Hornets finished the regular season with an 18-6 record and will be the No. 1 seed in the MACS State tournament starting next week.

LAKE PARK - The Lake Park Audubon Raiders held off the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines for a 59-52 non-conference win Friday night.
